A pensioner has died following a serious collision in Calverton
The 88-year-old woman was crossing the street in Saint Wilfrid’s Square, Calverton, when she was in collision with a dark blue Audi Q7.
It happened around 2.15pm on Friday, May 31, 2019.
The woman was taken to hospital in a serious condition, but has sadly died this morning.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who was driving in the area, who may have dash-cam footage, to call 101, quoting incident number 491 of 31 May 2019.Incident Number: 000491-31052019
Police in Notts will be seen dealing with a New Year’s Day disturbance in Gedling by TV viewers across the UK on Monday night.
Fans of TV show Cops UK: Bodycam Squad will get to see how officers resolve the incident in Monday night’s episode on the Really channel at 9pm.

Drivers are being warned to keep their speed in check as police and volunteers step up enforcement in Calverton and Ravenshead
Last weekend a team of local special constables from Nottinghamshire Police were out in force around Calverton and conducting speed enforcement checks following local residents concerns.
Dozens of vehicles were checked during the operation in the village.
Police said that everyone checked was driving appropriately, and within the speed limits.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: People in Calverton have spoke and we’ve listened. We’ll continue to provide a visible presence in Calverton and respond to concerns raised by members of the public living, working and visiting the area.
On Friday (May 24) officers also gathered on Longdale Lane in Ravenshead with volunteers from the Community Road Safety team to conduct speed checks.
Speed checks were conducted between 17:30 and 19:15 hours on Longdale Lane by the Leisure Centre.
Police said a number of vehicles were doing over 35mph on hitting the speed gun, however they had slowed down by the time they had hit the second interactive sign.
Only one vehicle was caught doing over 35mph all the way through the monitoring zone, the driver was pulled over by Police and words of advice were given on this occasion.
A spokesman added: “The local Neighbourhood Policing team will continue supporting the Community Road Safety Scheme in Ravenshead, with numerous dates being put in the diary for the future.”
A new eco-friendly bus being launched in Carlton is to be named after one of Nottingham City Transport’s top drivers.
A new greener bus is being launched on the Lilac 27 route and will be named after Jatinder Kumar, who was named as the firm’s driver of the year for 2018 back in January.
Mr Kumar’s name is now proudly displayed on the front of bus on the routes they drive, with a photograph of the driver on the back

Mr Kumar said: “Winning NCT Driver of the Year in January was a massive surprise for me because I feel like am just doing my job by carrying people to and from their destinations.
“To now have a bus named after me too, is just amazing and I am so proud”.
In total, 30 Nottingham City Transport buses have been named, with Aaron and Jatinder joining an exclusive group which includes community heroes, other NCT Drivers of the Year, Olympians and a musician.
David Astill, NCT Commercial and Operations Director added, “Our drivers are the public face of NCT when customers board our buses and it’s only right that we celebrate their achievements by proudly naming this bus after one of our top drivers”.
A man from Gedling who works locally as a DJ has been left devastated after hundreds of pounds worth of professional audio equipment was stolen from his vehicle.
Jordan Cumberpatch said the equipment was stolen from his car yesterday morning (May 28) while it was parked on Stoke Lane.
He is now appealing to those who may have information to help him recover the equipment.
Mr Cumberpatch said: “Why would someone rob a person who is working so hard to make a go of this?
“I think I’ve been watched as someone obviously knows what I do in my spare time.”
Police say an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have now been arrested following a robbery in Lucknow Road, Mapperley Park, Nottingham.
The incident happened at around 6.10pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “An 18-year-old man was threatened and punched in the head. He suffered minor injuries.
“A mobile phone and a bag was stolen.
“The two arrested remain in police custody.”

Police have launched an appeal after a man was assaulted and robbed by men wearing balaclavas in Carlton.
The robbery took place in Burton Avenue, Carlton at around 10pm on Friday, March 22, 2019.
Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to talk with in connection with the crime.
A police spokesman said: “A man was approached by a group of men wearing balaclavas and threatened him.
“The victim was assaulted and had money and jewellery stolen from him.
“The victim suffered facial injuries.
“Officers would like to speak to the man in the pictures in connection to the incident.”
