88-year-old woman hit by car in Calverton

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 88-year-old woman was hit by a car in Calverton.

The collision between a pedestrian and a dark blue Audi Q7 took place yesterday afternoon (May 31) at around 2.15pm at Saint Wilfrid’s Square.

A spokesman said: “An 88-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was hit by the car.

“She is currently in Queen’s Medical Centre in a serious condition.”

Officers are appealing for any witnesses, dash-cam footage or any information to ring 101, quoting incident number 491 of 31 May 2019.
