Woods Motor Club was set up in 2020 by Carl Greensmith, a motor enthusiast who was looking for a way to connect with like-minded people who share his passion for all things motor related.
Gedling Eye caught up with Carl to hear about the club’s origins and the club’s plans for the year ahead. Carl said: “I have always had a passion for French cars and have tried to get away from them for many years but to no avail.
“Over the years I have been involved in a number of model-specific car clubs and whilst I have enjoyed them, I felt that I could offer a club that was all-inclusive for any type of motor, whether it be a car, motorbike, modern, classic, vintage or anything in between. So I created Woods Motor Club, an all-inclusive motor club.”
The club is based in the village of Woodborough but welcomes members from across the county and the next event is on Saturday April 20 at The Nags Head pub in Woodborough from 9:30am – 12:00pm with hot food and drinks available.
Carl added: “It is not about the car, motorbike or anything else you drive. It is about who you are, what you love, where you get your kicks from and if you share our passion, then you are in.
“We organise 3 or 4 events a year and you will always be warmly welcomed by one of the event organisers and our members.”
During the events the club also raises money for charity, which changes annually. This year the club are proud to supporting Cardiomyopathy UK – the heart muscle charity.
Upcoming events :The Nags Head, Woodborough from 9:30am-12:00pm on Saturday April 20 with hot food and drinks available and The Four Bells Inn, Woodborough on Saturday June 15. 9.30-12.00, also with hot food and drinks available.
