MP Mark Spencer column: I’m backing calls for Calverton road repairs

We have a new Prime Minister and a new Government in place, and we have seen the markets stabilise.

Since my last column, a lot has changed in Westminster.

We have a new Prime Minister and a new Government in place, and we have seen the markets stabilise.

I am delighted to have been asked to continue in my role as Minister for Farming, Food and Fisheries in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs where I will continue to back British farming and support our rural economy.

Whinbush Lane, Calverton

Community campaigner Jane Walker has launched a petition calling for Whinbush Lane in Calverton to be resurfaced.

This is a busy road and I fully support the call for this to be resurfaced. Please sign a copy of the petition here: https://www.markspencer.org.uk/…/petition-to-resurface…

If you notice a pothole on your road then you can report this to Nottinghamshire County Council to get it fixed here: https://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/…/report-a-pothole/

Out and about in Ravenshead

After a busy week in Westminister it was great to spend last Saturday morning out with Cllr Stuart Bestwick and Cllr Martin Smith in Ravenshead talking to residents! Thank you to everyone who took the time to engage with us about local and national issues. Please get in touch with me if I can help you with any issues or concerns

Veolia Oxton

I visited the Veolia composting facility in Oxton to see how our green waste is being recycled.
Veolia manage the recycling on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council and the District/Borough councils. It was an interesting visit and it underlined the importance to me to ensure I help everyone know what they can recycle and when. If you want to check your recycling the right thing, you can check each district council’s guide:

New health centre in Hucknall

I have been contacted by residents querying information put out by the Ashfield Independent Group in a campaign leaflet regarding plans for a new health centre in Hucknall. The NHS have not confirmed any news about a site for the health centre and I have asked them for a meeting to discuss their latest plans and any updates I can share with you.

I am proud to be your MP and as someone who is born and bred in Sherwood, I will always champion our area. If you have any questions for me or need my help, please email me mark.spencer.mp@parliament.uk or call my office on 0115 9681186. You can also follow me on Facebook Mark Spencer MP, to keep up to date with what I am doing.

  1. “We have a new Prime Minister and a new Government in place, and we have seen the markets stabilise.”

And we have a cruel, deceitful, xenophobic Home Secretary who, if she had a shred of decency would have resigned (Again). Oh, and – today’s scandal – a bullying Minister with-nothing-to-do who encourages people to slit their throats, who has had to resign.
So, hey, Mark: you’re right! Let’s forget Covid-cronyism; Partygate; Johnson’s myriad lies; porn in the Commons; the shortest serving and most destructive PM (by a mile) of modern times; billions lost in Kwarteng-inspired chaos; Truss-masterminded rocketing mortgages; a health minister who had to resign because of his breaking the rules during a pandemic he was meant to be managing going AWOL to earn £400,000.
The Tory Party’s doing just fine! And why? Because, ignoring all the incontrovertible evidence and supplying none yourself, you say it is, Mark. Sure: everything in the UK, after TWELVE wasted years is just hunky dory.
Thanks so much for setting the record straight, Mark.
