Young fundraiser from Arnold stirs up support for guide dog charity

An eight-year-old girl from Arnold has stirred up support for a leading guide dog charity by holding a bake sale in her local community to raise funds.

Libby, who lives in Arnold, raised the cash by baking cakes, organising a cake sale and selling cakes to her neighbours.

She handed over a cheque for £30 to guide dog owner David Newsham and his dog Elliot which will be donated to the Guide Dogs charity.

Libby’s mum, Carol, said: “We are very lucky to live in a community where everyone is very supportive of each other. Libby loves baking and her favourite bake is her chocolate cake. Although the banana and raisin loaf sold the best at this year’s cake sale.”

Guide dog owner David Newsham and his guide dog Elliot collected the cheque from Libby, thanking her for her support and letting her know how the money she raised will help make a difference to someone with sight loss.
