Police have rescued a snake after receiving a call from the public who spotted the ‘slippery customer’ slithering down a footpath in Colwick Country Park
The snake, believed to be a non-venomous Boa Imperator, was first encountered shortly before 4pm on Thursday (18) Nottinghamshire Police has said.
Boa imperators are one of the most popular pet snakes and are often bred in captivity.
A spokesman said: “Our officers are used to dealing with the odd slippery customer with no leg to stand on, but they received we rather unusual call today
“They were called into action after a report a six-foot long snake was spotted slithering along a footpath in Colwick Country Park
“Fear not, a local reptile centre, which was alerted to the surprise discovery, attended and helped us arresssssst the snake.”
