Climate activists protested outside a petrol station in Daybrook, near Arnold yesterday (18) to highlight the rising costs of petrol.
35 activists from Extinction Rebellion (XR) took part in the protest outside BP Mansfield Road petrol station yesterday, and Shell on Sherwood Rise.
They will protest at Shell Huntingdon Street petrol station today (19).

The protests have been organised by the climate activists are to encourage Nottinghamshire residents to boycott Shell and BP.
“Asking everyone to suddenly stop using their cars is just impossible. But what motorists can do to help is avoid filling up at BP and Shell,” said Marley, 39, one of the protestors and a joiner.

“These two companies are the worst at lying about how green they are.
“Ultimately we need to put pressure on these companies to actually do what they’re pretending to do – to put their massive profits into genuinely green solutions.”
Passer-by David from Calverton stopped to speak to the protestors.
“These profits that they’re making – it’s disgusting. I’m 66 and I’m worried about my grandkids,” he said.
Etienne Stott, 43, campaigner and Olympic athlete from the Meadows, added: “We want to warn motorists what we’re planning, so try to fill up your tank at a different petrol station. If enough of us can avoid these greedy, greenwashing companies, they’ll get the message that we want a sustainable future for our children.”
