Coronavirus cases continue to rise – bringing Gedling borough’s total figure to 479

Two new cases of coronavirus were recorded yesterday (September 24), taking the total for Gedling borough to 479.

Case numbers have continued to rise with eight being recorded over the past seven days.

Other areas of the county were more heavily impacted, with Gedling borough recording the least number of new cases in Notts.

Coronavirus testing

A worrying rise continued in Newark and Sherwood, with nine more cases reported.

Rushcliffe recorded nine, Ashfield eight, Broxtowe seven and Bassetlaw six.

25 new cases were reported in Nottingham city.

Yesterday, new curfew laws came into force across the borough, with pubs being forced to shut their doors at 10pm.

A new NHS coronavirus contract-tracing app was also launched to help make you aware of possible contact being made with someone showing symptoms.

The app can now be downloaded for most phones via the Apple App Store or Google Play
