Nottingham City Transport has expanded its network from today, (3) to serve the new Chase Farm development in Gedling.
Chase Farm is now served by an extension of NCT’s Sky Blue 45 service, providing a 10 minute Monday to Saturday daytime service to Mapperley and the City Centre.
Sunday daytime buses operate every 20 minutes, with a half hourly service every night and last buses back from the City at midnight on Mondays to Saturdays.
Anthony Carver-Smith, NCT Head of Marketing said, “We are delighted to bring a bus service to the new Chase Farm development, providing a frequent service to both Mapperley and Nottingham with single fares just £2 as NCT continues to participate in the government’s fare cap scheme until the end of October”.
Sky Blue 45 operates with NCT’s low emission bio-gas double deck buses, which come with free Wi-Fi and on board USB charging too.
NCT has been supported by Nottinghamshire County Council, who have installed new bus stops in the Gedling area for the extended route to Chase Farm and the new route for Red 44/A buses in the area.
Red 44/A buses now use Shelford Road and Arnold Lane in both directions, with a new bus stop on Arnold Lane to replace a former stop on Besecar Avenue towards the City.
The changes to buses in Gedling are part of a wider revision to services from today, which includes stop changes in the City Centre and Arnold Town Centre and revised timetables on Lime and Purple Lines, and Navy 49.
Full details of the changes are available at www.nctx.co.uk/servicechange and new timetables are viewable in the NCTX Buses app and website.

Nightmare for residents on Shelford Road between Arnold lane and Wollaton avenue,3 buses at once at junction with Arnold lane, accidents will happen.Road already knackered and a designated cycle route ,what could go wrong.Residents on upper Wollaton and Besecar now without service. So much for Colliery way making Gedling residents life saver and quieter. Think we’ve been conned and lied to.
I agree, I help a disabled lady on besecar avenue who is now without a bus service. She is not great on her feet and now has to walk to the Sainsbury’s on Arnold lane to get the 44, and could barely make it to the turning circle to get the 45 if needed to get that which she has to when going to mental health meetings and now has to walk further to get the bus even further away
It is, especially for disabled people who now gave to walk further for either the 44 or 45
I thought the council had put a new stop at the bottom of Besecar on Arnold Lane?
