A Calverton man is being brought before court charged in connection with a break-in at a Post Office and shop.
A quantity of cash was stolen after tills were attacked at the address in Main Street, Woodborough, on the morning of September 26 2022.
Following detailed inquiries a suspect was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.
John Wilson, aged 38, of Labray Road, Calverton, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday (9) charged with burglary.
He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at the same court on January 3, 2023.
Inspector Mark Stanley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This great result was achieved thanks to some fantastic work by neighbourhood policing team members who really pulled out the stops to get a suspect charged as soon as possible.
“It’s a shining example of our determination to improve the lives of our communities by cracking down on distressing crimes, such as burglary, as well as working hard to prevent crime before it happens.
“As a force we understand how devastating burglaries can be which is why we will always take these kind of reports extremely seriously.
“We want to reassure the people of Nottinghamshire we will continue to pursue those committing burglaries and remain committed to catching those responsible and bringing them to justice.”
