Police appeal as digger stolen from Carlton

Police are telling owners of plant machinery to remain vigilant after a number of thefts from building sites across Gedling borough.

In the latest incident a mini-digger was taken from a trailer in Oakdale Road in Carlton.

Police believe the theft took place between Monday and Tuesday (June 7-8).

Gedling Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector Chris Pearson is appealing for information.

Inspector Pearson said: “We’d urge anyone with any information about this theft to please come forward as soon as possible. Your information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, could be crucial to our investigation.

“Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 84 of 8 June when they call.”

He added: “We will not tolerate this type of offending in Gedling borough and we thoroughly investigate reports of vehicle crime.”
