One of Mapperley’s best-known venues now has a new general manager.
Copper Mapperly is now being run by Tom Bartley, who was born and bred in nearby Arnold and says he knows the Mapperley area ‘like the back of his hand’.
With an extensive history in hospitality and operations, his previous roles include being part of the successful operations team at the Motorpoint Arena that helps organise the Nottingham venue’s big events.
Tom said: “Since being offered the role at Copper, I have been excited that I am working at this fantastic venue and looking forward to the future.”

“Since starting it has been great getting to know the fantastic team of staff and our customers and the welcome that I have received has been very touching.”
Tom says he has exciting plans for Copper Mapperley and aims to make it THE place to visit in Mapperley.
The new manager has already been talking to customers and taken onboard some of their ideas on how the bar can be improved. Following these conversations, he has now decided to extend the opening times from April 3.
Tom told us that live music is also back every Friday and Saturday from April and the venue has announced its first ‘Butler in the Buff’ night coming up on Tuesday, May 25 that has 3 butlers, live music, glass or fizz and nibbles for £35.
Happy hour runs Monday – Thursday 3pm – 7pm on Cocktails, Procecco and selected pints as well as a lunchtime offer of Sandwich, fries and a small beer or 175ml glass of wine or soft drink for £6.95.
Tom praised the Copper’s Sunday lunch, saying everything is cooked fresh and described the Yorkshire puddings as ‘amazing’. Apologising in advance, he said the venue’s popular lunch ‘was better than his mother’s’.

The new manager says he has some exciting plans for the future and exciting events taking place throughout the year.
He said: “I can not wait to share this with you all shortly, so please keep an eye out on our social media channels for updates”
Blue light card holders also receive a discount at the bar.
