A man from Gedling who sexually abused a child over several years has been jailed.
Andrew Tizzard, 48, was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Friday (April 15).
He was found guilty of 10 sexual offences against a boy under the age of 16 following a trial at Nottingham Crown Court.
Tizzard, formerly of St Michael’s Avenue, Gedling, first assaulted the boy when he was just eight-years-old and he continued to abuse him into his early teens.

Over this period, in the 1990s, the abuse went from grooming to full sexual intercourse and happened in various Nottinghamshire locations.
The victim, who is now an adult, came forward to report the offences in 2014.
DI Nikki Smith said: “It took so much courage for the victim in this case to come forward after living with it for so many years. Tizzard took his childhood away but I hope now that the victim can move on with his life knowing that Tizzard is in prison.
“Nottinghamshire Police takes historic abuse reports seriously and the sentence handed down to Tizzard shows that we will pursue these people and see them jailed.”
