Local charities benefit from successful Gedling Gala event

Charities were selected by public vote on Facebook prior to the event.

Gedling Gala organisers delivered another successful Gedling Gala this year and the Gala has distributed a massive £2500 to local charities.

Zanda Dibbo-Pajączkowski, Gedling Gala Chairman spoke with Gedling Eye about those charities that have benefited from this years event.

Zanda said: “From the money we raised at Gedling Gala this year, we’ve just given cheques of £500 to each of the three charities, that were voted for by the public on Facebook Footprints – Conductive Education Centre, St George’s and Loco Centre – Netherfield and St Paul’s Breakfast Club – Carlton.”

Zanda added that “During lockdown because we’d already said at the next Gedling Gala we’d be giving to two charities, we still gave £500 to each of the charities after lockdown (2021) – Gedling Play Forum and Myotonic Dystrophy Support Group.”

Although the Gala is over for another year, Zanda is already thinking about next year and said “For Gedling Gala to keep growing successfully, we need a lot more people helping in any way they can, and if people join our Facebook Group, that way we can all stay in touch – so that we can bring the community together.”
