American fried chicken chain Popeyes is planning to open one of its first UK drive-thru sites at a retail park near Netherfield.
Popeyes recently opened its first Nottingham branch in Upper Parliament Street in the city centre and is now hoping to open their second site at Teal Close Retail Park.
If plans are approved then a 2,500 sq ft unit would be built containing a 65-seating area, drive-thru, car-parking and click and collect bays.
If planning approval is successful, work would begin later this year.

The restaurant chain has said the restaurant would create up to 100 new jobs.
Tom Crowley, CEO at Popeyes UK, added: “The sustained demand we’re seeing for Popeyes is incredible, it’s great to see how enthusiastically the UK has welcomed us, and we’re particularly proud to be opening our first drive-thru locations this year. Following the success of our Upper Parliament Street restaurant which landed in Autumn 2022, opening a drive-thru location locally was an obvious choice for us. We’re looking forward to expanding our offering in Nottingham.”
The chain hope to open the site in Spring 2024.
Teal Park is already home to Aldi, Birds Bakery’s, Pizza Triangle, Valley CiDS charity shop and a trade and industrial park.
