A Carlton drug dealer has been jailed for six years after police found nearly a kilogram of cocaine and a large machete inside his BMW.
Terrell Reid, 49, of Valley Road, Carlton, was stopped by officers on Lady Bay Bridge after police became suspicious he was transporting drugs.
Officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s Road Crime team had followed Reid’s BMW 1 Series from the M1, through Clifton and towards West Bridgford on September 30.
Police eventually used stingers and a vehicle box manoeuvre to bring the BMW to a stop on Lady Bay Bridge.
After being removed from the car, Reid was asked whether there was anything inside it and admitted drugs were on board.
Officers subsequently discovered a zip-lock bag containing nearly one kilogram of cocaine hidden in the footwell.

The Class A drugs had been wrapped inside a towel and were estimated to be worth around £50,000.
Police also searched the boot of the BMW, where they discovered a large sheathed machete.
Reid was arrested and later charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a bladed article in public.
He admitted both offences and appeared at Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on Friday, October 30.
Judge Michael Auty sentenced Reid to six years in prison.
Detective Staff Investigator Steve Willetts, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “It was really pleasing to see Terrell Reid receive this sentence, exactly one month on from his offending.
“One of those offences saw him transport a substantial amount of cocaine in the back of his car with the intention of supplying it, and causing considerable harm, to our communities.
“That on its own would’ve been reprehensible enough, but Reid compounded things still further by also being in possession of a large machete.
“There is never an excuse for anyone to be in possession of such a weapon in public, while we want to make it clear that supplying drugs won’t ever be tolerated by this police force either.
“The Road Crime team officers did a great job on the night to safely arrest Reid, while a lot of police work has gone on since then to secure this prison sentence as well.
“Bearing all of this in mind, we’re delighted to see he will now spend a considerable amount of time behind bars.”
