Patients at a surgery in Colwick are being asked to take part in a survey to help decide its future.
Trentside Medical Group’s contract to deliver GP services at Colwick Vale Surgery comes to an end on March 31, 2016, and they have announced they will not continue with the contract after this date due to “the unsustainable costs of running the surgery”.
Patients were invited to a public meeting in December to voice their concerns about the decision as part of a consultation period which runs until February 5, 2016.
The Nottingham North and East Clinical Commissioning Group, who organised the meeting, are keen to get the views of residents who couldn’t attend and who may be affected by asking them to complete an online survey.
A spokesman for Nottingham North and East Clinical Commissioning Group said: “Following the evaluation of the survey, we will work with our Local Authority colleagues and Trentside Medical Group to look at what options may be available to patients.
“We will also take into consideration the plans for a new state-of-the-art surgery on the old school site on Meadow Road in Netherfield. The plans for this have been agreed but are subject to funding.
“We are committed to ensuring all local patients can access good quality care and are working closely with the practice.”
