Woman dies after car goes into River Trent at Hoveringham

A 39-year-old woman has died after her car went into the River Trent after leaving the road in Hoveringham (Tuesday 24 September 2019).

Officers were called to Hoveringham Road, Hoveringham, at around 4pm yesterday following reports of a car in the River Trent.

Fire crews from Arnold and Carlton attended the scene.

A police spokesman said: “The woman was taken to hospital but died from her injuries a short while after.

“No one else has is believed to have been injured in the incident.

“Hoveringham Road will remain closed until it has been cleared. 

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has any information that could aid officers in their investigation, or has any dashcam footage, should call 101 and quote incident number 565 of 24 September 2019.
