Police hunting three males they suspect to be behind a distraction burglary in Carlton are investigating a sighting in the Gedling area yesterday.
A resident contacted police after three males matching their description called at his home in Besecar Avenue at around mid-day yesterday (27) and offered to clean out his guttering – to which he agreed.
After 10 minutes he claims they informed him that his guttering was rotted and needed replacing at a cost of over £3,000. The resident informed them he wasn’t interested.
Although he didn’t spot the vehicle number plate, he thought they were driving a white flatbed Ford Transit van.

The men are described as white and all aged between 40-55. One male is described as being of a tall stocky build and with an Irish accent.
On both incidents they have asked if residents need their guttering cleaning.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “We have shared this with our partners at Trading Standards, The Council and other agencies and are looking at all avenues to catch this group , but we need your help.”
Police were also keen to remind residents to be cautious.
They added: “If you do not recognise the person don’t open the door. Talk through the door and politely reject their services; legitimate callers will understand and leave.
