Planning applications have been received by Gedling Borough Council for a new shop front and display of adverts at 42 Main Road, Gedling, Nottingham, NG4 3HL.
The proposed changes to the front include a new aluminium shop front with the existing entryway partly bricked up.
The proposed changes to the side include a new aluminium shop front with sections of the existing wall to be rendered. There will also be artificial plants with gold signage and an external air conditioning condensing unit.
There will also be three new non-illuminated signs which include a new hanging sign.
The proposed new business – Gigi Creatives will provide hair, beauty and wellbeing services.
The building previously traded as a cake shop but has been empty since 2023 when the previous occupier retired.

This shop front was becoming an eyesore and is in desperate need
of renovation and refurb
I wish it was still a cake supplies shop. We have so many hairdressers, nail bars and similar establishments. It would be good to have somewhere that sells things.
