A food bank in Netherfield could be forced to close as it has too many elderly volunteers.
Charity chiefs are now appealing to the local community for volunteers in a bid to keep the much-needed facility open during these troubled times.
The food bank is based at the Bethesda Ministry community hall on Forester Street in the town.
It opens each Wednesday between 12pm-3pm and helps feed needy families in the surrounding areas.
A spokesperson for the food bank said: “Netherfield Food Bank is in danger of closing due to the age of some of the present volunteers.
“We now need new volunteers to remain open. Training is provided and will only take five minutes.”
