MATCH REPORT: Carlton Town 0- 2 Kidsgrove Athletic

Kidsgrove sealed three points in a game they always looked like winning writes Joshua Hodgeson.
For thirty minutes they looked the better side but a strong showing from Carlton’s midfield broke up any chances that were thrown their way.
In the 33rd minute Kidsgrove opened the scoring after a dubious decision that Lee Pickerill was onside. The linesman was unable to keep up with play and fans of both sides agreed that Harry Clayton’s goal should have seen the whistle well before the ball found the net.
The second half saw The Millers find more of a flow to their play with Romaine Graham and Lawrence Gorman substituted on, both of whom were part of the side that beat Chasetown just 7 days earliar. That momentum was soon taken away as a counter saw Ben Mills weave through the Carlton centre backs and calmly slotted in the back of the net to double their advantage.
Shortly after the same man had a goal dissallowed for a foul on Jack Steggles much to the suprise of all watching. The latter stages of the game became dull with both sides lacking any desire to add to the scoreline. A good win for Kidsgrove whose position in the table is very deceptive.
Entertainment Rating – 2
