Man admits causing death of pedestrian in Woodthorpe

A 26-year-old man has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a pedestrian in Woodthorpe last month.

The crash in Woodthorpe Drive on August 21 resulted in the death of 19-year-old Bryony Hollands, from Maidenhead, Berkshire. A 20-year-old male pedestrian was also seriously injured in the incident.

Thomas Burney, of Egerton Road, Woodthorpe, appeared via videolink for the hearing at Nottingham Crown Court today (10 September).

Burney admitted causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury through dangerous driving.

He will appear at court again for sentencing on October 23.
