Former pupils and staff will gather on Thursday to say goodbye to the building that has housed a popular pre-school for the past 46 years.
Carlton Hill Pre-School has been based in the building next to the Sacred Heart Church since it was established back in 1970.
But from September, staff and pupils will be making the move across town and will have a new home at The Richard Herrod Centre in Carlton.
The pre-school’s last day at Carlton Hill will be this Thursday (21) and they are planning to hold a fun day to mark the occasion.
Vernon Coaker, MP for Gedling, has been invited along to dig up a time capsule he buried at their Carlton Hill site back in 2010 to mark the pre-school’s 40th anniversary. He will be joined by Mayor of Gedling, Sandra Barnes.

There will also be a bbq, children’s races, stalls, refreshments, a raffle and ice cream van for people to enjoy on the day.
Organisers are also putting together a display of items from the school’s 46-year history for people to see that will hopefully bring back many happy memories from the past four decades.
The event will take place at the pre-school between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
Anyone who wishes to share their photos or memories of the pre-school for the display to should contact the preschool on 01159115644 or email carltonhillplaygroup@googlemail.com
