The former mayor of Gedling has rounded off a successful year of fundraising with a donation of over £14,000 to locally based charity We R Here.
Councillor Meredith Lawrence, who was mayor from 2015 until earlier this year, presented the cheque at an event hosted by current Mayor of Gedling, Cllr Sandra Barnes.
Cllr Lawrence, who lives in Colwick, was just one of many fundraisiers attending the event which was held to thank them all for their efforts in raising cash for the charity.

He said: “It was with great pleasure that I adopted WE R HERE, as I discovered what brilliant work they do in supporting vulnerable families through bereavement counselling for young children, self-esteem classes for women fleeing domestic violence, and art therapy.
“I know that the money will mean a lot to them as their services are much in demand from such a small charity.”
Jeanette Mullins, Chair of the WE R HERE trustees, presented flowers to Wendy Lawrence in recognition of the work she had done as Mayoress of Gedling over the past year.
