Emergency services continue search for man who went missing in River Trent near Stoke Bardolph

Emergency services were called to Stoke Bardolph Weir at 6.34pm yesterday (Sunday) after a 39-year-old man entered the water.

Specialist search teams are continuing to search for a man who was reported missing in the River Trent near Stoke Bardolph.

Emergency services were called to Stoke Bardolph Weir at 6.34pm yesterday (Sunday) after a 39-year-old man entered the water.

Police and Fire crews spent much of yesterday evening searching for the man and returned to the scene early this morning.

Search operations are continuing and specialist police divers are at the scene.

Chief Inspector Jon Foy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Work is ongoing to find this man and teams of specialist officers are currently at the scene.

“We are currently investigating what happened and would like to speak to any additional witnesses who have yet to come forward.”

Anyone with additional information is asked to call 101 quoting incident.
