BREAKING: Police respond to incident on Westdale Lane

Nottinghamshire Police said there are no threats to the wider public

Police have responded to an incident on Westdale Lane overnight (Wednesday, October 22).

Several officers and police vehicles were seen at Westdale Lane East iand a cordon is in place outside Mapperley Booze off licence

It has been reported forensic officers are on the scene.

Nottinghamshire Police have yet to disclose why were at the two locations.

A spokesman said: “There are no threats to the wider public”.

Residents in Carlton and Netherfield took to social media overnight to say they had heard police helicopters and drones circling over the towns during the early hours.

Westdale Lane was closed by police overnight but has now been reopened.

Nottingham City Transport confirmed their buses are now using the road again after earlier warning it was off limits.

A spokesperson said: “Lilac 25/B and Sky Blue 60 have returned to normal route through Gedling and along Westdale Lane following last night’s incident.”
