A leading supermarket chain is helping those struggling with the cost of living crisis in Arnold by offering a funding boost to a foodbank.
Arnold Foodbank is working with the Co-op which recently launched a match funding project that will give much-needed cash to the charity.
The retailer will match any donation made up to £250 via their Crowdfunder site per person until the end of the February. This means if you donate £5 online, it will automatically double to £10 and there’s GiftAid on top, which doesn’t cost you anything if you’re a taxpayer.

Volunteers at the foodbank in Arnold say demand for help has never been higher
Helen Lloyd, manager of Arnold Foodbank told Gedling Eye: “The cost of living crisis is impacting all members of our society.
“People who, just a few months ago, would have been regularly given to us through supermarket collection points are now heartbroken to find themselves on the receiving end.
“We’re having to top-up our food stock more, especially with some of the more expensive items such as tinned meat, tuna and coffee.
“We’re so grateful to all those who give to us either financially, directly or through collection points, but the need is continuous and unrelenting at the moment as fuel bills continue to mount,”
