The pick of this weeks matches certainly didn’t disappoint as top beat second with Calverton’s Admiral Rodney losing 4 – 2 on their travels at The Gedling Club leaving the current champions three points clear at the top of the table.

Win of the week goes to newcomers The Cross Keys from Burton Joyce who lost their ‘draw specialists’ tag in style by defeating third placed Calverton Working Men’s Club 4-2. The match also seen a first defeat of the season for CWMC in the Captain & Secretary Cup following six wins in a row as CWMC pairing Carlin & Haywood were beaten by Lindsay & Doddy.

The first week of the season that witnessed no draws sees the league remaining tight behind The Gedling Club with only two points separating second place from seventh place.

Finish of the week went to T Walker of The Old Green Dragon with a 96 checkout.

There are no league matches on December 13 as the Knockout cup quarter finals take centre stage with some great matches in prospect:

The league resumes on January 10, 2024 following the Christmas break however there is a Christmas competition on Wednesday December 20 at CWMC. 8pm sign in. Format to be decided. All players welcome.
