MATCH REPORT: Carlton Town 3 – 1 Chasetown

Bookmark
Both teams came into this game hoping for a win to boost their campaigns.  Chasetown took the game to Carlton in the opening stages with Craddock going close but it was Carlton that found the break writes Josh Hodgson.
A long ball forward from Lawrence Gorman found Niall Davis whose shot was deflected past the keeper for the opener.
Not long after the same man consolidated their lead. Carlton found a long shot from Danny Gordon ricochet between players only for Niall to find the ball again to drive into the bottom left to make it 2-0.
Second half saw Chasetown take the game to the Millers. Several chances for James Dance and Nathan Rooney were blocked by Carlton’s keeper Jack Steggles. The pressure eventually caught the home side out
with Mitchell Piggon lobbing the keeper after a poorly cleared set piece. Chasetown then took their momentum forward but to no avail.
Come the last five minutes of the game Carlton didn’t settle for the win, they took their chance from a break for Jake Wholey to slot past the keeper. Gaz Bee, Carlton’s Deputy Commercial Manager, said
“Carlton soaked up the pressure when they needed too and thats why they deserve the win.”
Man of the Match – Niall Davis
Entertainment Rating: 3/5
