Nottinghamshire got the royal seal of approval as the King called the area ‘beautiful’ during a meeting with Gedling borough’s newly-elected MPs at Buckingham Palace

Gedling MP Michael Payne and Sherwood Forest MP Michelle Welsh were part of the select group invited to meet the King and Queen last week at a reception on Wednesday afternoon (January 29).

Mr Payne said: “I was invited to Buckingham Palace to meet Their Majesties, The King and Queen on behalf of the people of Gedling.

“His Majesty, The King commented on what a beautiful county Nottinghamshire is. I wished him well on behalf of Gedling’s communities and let him know his family would always be welcome for a Royal visit to Gedling in the future.
