An adorable video has been filmed by a Netherfield singing school thanking the NHS heroes and key workers for all their work during the coronavirus crisis.
In the video, members of the Rebecca Lomas Academy of Voice can be seen singing and dancing to their own version of Gary Barlow smash hit ‘Sing’.
The film was edited together by Academy owner Rebecca using the footage filmed by the families of the young singers in their homes.
She told Gedling Eye: “I’m so proud of what they have achieved with our ‘SING’ for the NHS video. They’ve worked super hard. It’s something that they can cherish forever and remember these crazy times with.
As well as paying tribute to NHS workers in the video, they youngsters have also set up a JustGiving page to raise funds for the organisation: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Rebecca-Lomas3
Classes at the Rebecca Lomas Academy of Voice are currently taking place on Facebook Live and Zoom whilst the UK lockdown is in place.
Each Wednesday, students take part in vocal warm ups singing challenges and one-to-one lessons with Rebecca to keep spirits lifted while travel restrictions are in place.
She said: ” I’ve found it’s a good way to keep connected with my students whilst we’re in lockdown and it also keeps a sense of normality to our regular Wednesday classes. As well as the challenges and lessons, we even have a few students doing their London College of Music singing exams via an online portal – technology is wonderful!
“I’m so pleased we can still carry on a part of the academy online but I really can’t wait for the day to see my students again in person as I miss them dearly.
