Would-be entrepreneurs and performers from across the borough are being invited to take part in a teenage market this summer.
The YouNG Market will be held as part of the Arnold Carnival and will take place during the weekend of June 18 and 19.
It aims to give young traders and performers the chance to showcase their creative products and talents.
Local teenagers who handmake their own items and products can sign-up for a stall, which are available for an affordable £5. They also get to keep 100% of profit they make on the day.
Organisers also have a number of slots up for grabs on the carnival’s main stage on Saturday afternoon, which they hope to fill with local young talent.
15-year-old Katy Harris is a local student who plans to have a stall on the day to sell her range of home-made accessories for babies, children and also dogs.
She came along to Arnot Hill Park last week to help promote the event with little sister, Grace, andHarry the dog, who both modelled a selection of accessories she plans to sell to carnival goers.
The market is being organised by YouNG Network Group who try to provide work experience opportunities to local young people aged between 14-21. The group was set-up by Rushcliffe Borough Council and recently extended into Gedling borough.
