A new website has been launched to helping struggling shoppers in the borough find home delivery slots from local supermarkets during the coronavirus outbreak.
The ‘Shopping Slot‘ website is completely free to use, all you have to do is enter your postcode to carry out a search.
The website will then scan nearby supermarkets to find out which delivery slots are available.
Once it’s finished checking, it will then bring up your results so you can see which local retailer you can get groceries delivered from.
The supermarket asks you to enter your email address to see the results, but you don’t have to do this.
If no delivery slot is available, users can even request to be emailed as soon as one becomes available. WhatsApp notifications are to be made available soon.
Shopping Slot currently shows results from Asda, Iceland, Tesco and Waitrose.
The website doesn’t cover Morrisons, Ocado or Sainsbury’s, but the owners say they are working on adding these supermarkets soon.
When Gedling Eye checked on Shopping Slot this morning with a Gedling postcode we found 24 slots on Sunday (April 24) at Asda in Arnold but nothing at nearby Iceland stores or Waitrose.
Be aware that you can’t book delivery times through Shopping Slot, and you’ll need to go to the supermarket’s website to do this.
If you click on the delivery slot found by Shopping Slot, it will take you directly to the supermarket’s delivery page where you’ll be able to book the available time.
Shopping Slot also cannot hold, reserve or prioritise slots.
The website is free to use, and shoppers can search for delivery times as many times as they like.
The owners said they plan to add smaller businesses to teh site search too.
No app for Shopping Slot is currently available.
