The identities of the mystery yarn bombers who decorated areas of Bestwood Village earlier this week has been revealed.

Bestwood Village WI confessed to being behind the recent yarn-ageddon on social media after people started to spot their colourful creations dotted around the village over the weekend.

It’s not the first time members have yarn bombed the village and this year they decided to go with a woodland theme to tie-in with their autumn fayre which took place last weekend.

Claire Averill, who is part of the BVWI Craft Committee, told Gedling Eye: “Our members are keen crafters and have yarn bombed the village before. We got permission to decorate the areas around the Dynamo Cafe, where we meet every month, and also the adjacent Winding House this year.

“The woodland theme is always fun to make and this weekend during our autumn fayre the visiting families with kids thought it was great, and it kept the little ones amused as they discovered all the hidden birds and animals.
