Nominations are needed for the worst potholes in Gedling borough.

The critters are a constant bugbear for drivers in the area – and we get a flood of emails on the subject all year round.

Not only do they cause hundreds of pounds in damage each year to vehicles – but they have been known to cause drivers injury too,

Cllr Henry Wheeler started using potholes in the borough to create digital art to raise awareness of the problem

Many locals have decided to try and raise awareness of the problem by posting pictures on social media and complaining to councils – but results are rare.

  1. Their are potholes on just about every single road in Arnold. Too many to name, the ones I’ve reported get patted down with a bit of asphalt. Next day you walk past and its been washed out and you have chippings everywhere. You have a pot holes filled and then multiple potholes appear next to it. Our roads are an absolute disgrace, many arnt potholes there turning into sink holes. They are incredibly dangerous and a very serious health and safety risk to pedestrians particularly if chippings hit you in the face. Some of the busiest roads in Arnold and throughout the Borough of Gedling need completely resurfacing. I’d urge people who’s cars get damaged and have to pay for costly repairs to send the Bill to Nottinghamshire County Council. Cyclists and pedestrians should sue for any injuries caused as well.

  2. Quite ironic that over £30 million is being spent on the new GAR when
Our local roads are so disgraceful.
People of Gedling think it is the answer to all their prayers!
No one yet has told me how all the traffic will flow up on Mapplerley Plains, given the restrictions of the roundabout beside Sainsburys.
But heigh ho what do we do ?
