 Police appeal after discovery of empty toolboxes in Burton Joyce

Police in Gedling borough are appealing to owners of commercial tools to check their outbuildings, vehicles and business premises following the discovery of a large quantity of empty tool boxes in the Burton Joyce area.

Special Constables attended an incident in the early hours of this morning (November 20), where they found empty tool boxes, drill parts and other electrical items in Main Street, Burton Joyce.

During their initial enquiries, officers later discovered more empty tool boxes on the same stretch of road.

A spokesman said: “Whilst at this stage, it’s unclear where these items have come from, officers are convinced that items could have potentially been stolen and then the boxes discarded of in an attempt to prevent trace.

“We are also keen to hear from any potential witnesses who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Main Street area of Burton Joyce in the late hours of Monday (November 19, 2019).

“If you recognise any of the items shown in the photograph, we’d urge you to call Nottinghamshire Police’s Control Room on 101, quoting incident number: 000939-19112019.”
