Lowdham & District Village Mens Dart League RESULTS April 3
The Gedling Club showed their quality by winning again in round 17 to retain their title with a 4 – 2 win against Lowdham’s Old Ship, a win that put them four points clear with one round to play.
At the same time as the Gedling Club were disposing of the Old Ship the CWMC suffered a heavy defeat at home to The Gleaners ‘A’ in a derby match dropping them to third place.
The top three teams continue to show they are best in the league and are in the the same order, with one round to play, as the final league finishing positions from 2022/23, however it has been a lot closer this year with only four points currently covering the top three as opposed to nine points splitting the three last year – Gedling Club 26pts, Gleaners 20pts and CWMC 17pts.
Although the final round of league matches are a dead rubber, the Captain and Secretary title will still go down to the wire.
The Knock Out Cup semi finals saw both Calverton clubs exit the competition as The Green Dragon beat The Gleaners ‘A’ and The Gedling Club beating The Admiral Rodney setting up a Gedling Club – Green Dragon final.
Finals & Presentation night is at 7.00pm on Friday April 19 at The Calverton Working Men’s Club. Raffle prizes will be gratefully excepted.
New players and teams are always welcome and with seven of the ten teams based in the borough it’s a great way to spend your Wednesday evening. If you want to get involved or learn more, you can visit the league Facebook page here .
