Cricket covers damaged at Calverton club

Police are appealing for information after damage was caused to equipment at a village cricket club.

A number of covers used to protect the pitch at Calverton Cricket Club, on Wood Lane, have been ripped apart.

Officers believe the damage was caused on Thursday evening (8).

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “It is known that groups congregate at the groundswhich the local team are trying to tackle however causing damage to property will not be accepted.

“We’ve taken a picture showing damage to one of the covers but there were numerous covers damaged like as shown. We would ask anybody who has any information regarding this incident to please contact us on 101 ext 8534161.”
