Everything from teenage dance troops to kickboxers and treetop trips in a cherry picker were on offer at this year’s Arnold Carnival.
The annual event has been running since 2000 and attracts thousands of people from across Gedling borough each year.
Among those enjoying the music and food stalls was Peter Hilton, 58, from Calverton.
He said: “I’m really glad the rain has so far managed to stay away as I was worried we wouldn’t be able to come this year if it poured down.
“It’s amazing. It always is. I love the stalls and I love the music on offer. The grandchildren love the fairground too.”
His five-year-old granddaughter Erica said she was having a fantastic time.
Erica said: “I won on hook-a-duck and also got a great prize from the lucky dip. The fairground is brill. I’ve been on the dodgems and also trampolines. I love it here.
Local and professional entertainers took to the stage this afternoon and many more are lined up to perform at the two-day event.
Josie Richards, 25, of Carlton said she was here to enjoy the music on offer.
“It’s just like being at a festival. There’s a beer tent and also great local musicians performing on the stage. I’ll probably be here until later tonight and then head straight into town.”
“It’s great that the council put this all on for free for everyone to enjoy. It brings the whole community together.
