A woman from Sherwood has been jailed for 10 years after being found guilty of stabbing her partner.
Malgorzata Kobialka, 44, of Sherwood, Nottingham, was found guilty at Nottingham Crown Court after wounding him on February 19, 2017.
She denied the stabbing from day one of the investigation, instead claiming that her partner was attacked by an unknown man on the doorstep of their home.
Kobialka then waited three hours to call an ambulance, instead choosing to call friends and family, before changing her clothes in an attempt to get away with the crime.
Detective Inspector Clare Dean headed the investigation: “Despite committing this savage attack on her partner, leaving him with serious, life threatening injuries, she still believed she would be able to pull the wool over the jury’s eyes.
“Leaving her partner to suffer for hours before calling for help proves how little remorse she has for her actions. Thankfully, the victim has now fully recovered.
“We take reports of domestic abuse very seriously; it ruins lives and only by taking a stand against it, can we really make a real difference.
“I want to thank my team for tirelessly working to widen the gaps in her already suspicious account of what happened, piecing together the evidence and witness accounts that sealed today’s successful evidence led prosecution.”
